Between the 17th and mid 19th centuries, Japan had elected to follow an isolationist policy. However, since opening its doors up to the rest of the globe this land has transformed into a landscape full of Neon lit cities and amazingly sophisticated transportation systems.

Besides the evident technological transformation in this nation, Japan has not lost complete touch with its traditional roots. In fact, the ancient customs and traditions are thriving in Japan and are one of the unique characteristics of the Japanese people. From being bowed to whilst being welcomed, to having to take your shoes off when entering someone's abode, all these little characteristics make you feel the simplicity and welcoming nature of the Japanese people.

Throughout the sprawling metropolises found within the city centres, you will find some old and ancient structures.
